Privacy Collection Notice

Compono Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 65 650 552 373) (“Compono”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Collection Notice explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information you provide (or provide about someone else) when you submit a nomination for the HR Influence Awards, including the Top 12 ANZ.

This notice should be read alongside Compono’s broader Privacy Policy.

1. What personal information we collect

When you submit a nomination, we may collect the following information.

About you (the nominator)

  • Your name
  • Your email address (and phone number if provided)
  • Your organisation and role (if provided)
  • Any other information you include in your nomination

About the nominee

  • Nominee name
  • Nominee role/title and organisation
  • Location (Australia or New Zealand)
  • Public profile links (e.g. LinkedIn)
  • Nominee contact details only if you choose to provide them

About the nomination

  • Your written nomination, including any examples, outcomes, evidence and links
  • Any preferences you select (for example, whether you want updates)
  • Technical information associated with website use (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) via standard analytics tools

2. Providing information about someone else

If you provide personal information about a nominee (or any other person), you confirm that:

  • you have permission to share their information with us, or
  • the information is publicly available and reasonably necessary to process nominations.

Please do not include sensitive information (such as health information), confidential business information, or anything you don’t have the right to share.

3. Why we collect personal information

We collect personal information to:

  • administer the HR Influence Awards nomination process
  • review nominations against the published criteria and supporting evidence
  • contact nominators and/or nominees to verify details or confirm participation
  • create and publish the HR Influence Awards outcomes, including the Top 12 ANZ
  • produce related campaign content (for example, profiles, spotlights, and social media assets)
  • improve future programs, campaigns and communications (using aggregated insights where appropriate)

4. Publication and promotion

If a nominee is selected, we may publish and promote information such as:

  • nominee name
  • role/title
  • organisation
  • general location (e.g. Australia/New Zealand, city/region if relevant)
  • a short profile summary and/or quote (where provided or confirmed)
  • a headshot only where we have appropriate permission

Publication may occur on the HR Influence Awards website, Compono channels, email, and social media.

5. Who we may disclose personal information to

We may disclose personal information to:

  • judges and reviewers involved in assessing nominations
  • service providers who help us run the campaign (for example, website hosting, CRM, email delivery, analytics, design tools)
  • professional advisers where necessary (for example, legal, risk, compliance)

We do not sell personal information.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia and New Zealand (depending on where our systems are hosted). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure personal information is handled securely and consistently with applicable privacy requirements.

7. Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We retain nomination-related information only for as long as necessary to administer the campaign and related activities, or as required by law.

8. Marketing communications (optional)

If you opt in to receive updates, we may send you news and communications relating to the HR Influence Awards and Compono. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.

9. Access and correction

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at privacy@compono.com.

10. Questions or complaints

If you have questions, concerns, or a complaint about how we handle personal information, contact privacy@compono.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
